About
David John Leathers
I live in Suffolk, painting mainly in oils, but also occasionally in acrylics and watercolours.
My drawing and painting skills have been honed by the love of picture making and no doubt enhanced by my early career as a cartographer and later as a technical illustrator in the graphics department of a large organisation.
My love of the East Anglian coast is, I think, evident in many of my paintings, but I am also now working on still life subjects and producing paintings of beautiful objects with colour and realism.
Whatever the subject, my aim is to produce pictures that will give lasting pleasure. My paintings are finding a place in collections from the UK to Australia.
I am a member of the Suffolk Art Society and Southwold Art Circle and currently I am Chairman of Bury St Edmunds Art Society.
I am represented by Chimney Mill Galleries, Bury St Edmunds and Ferini Art Gallery, Pakefield, Lowestoft.
